The wheel throwing course will cover the foundation techniques of wedging clay, throwing basic cup or bowl forms, trimming and adding handles. This course is a great introduction (or a refresher!) to working on the wheel, and working in a community studio. There will be ongoing demonstrations and plenty of work time.

The  classes will  involve some theory on the properties of clay and  instruction on working directly with clay.

This course includes tuition, 10kg Clay  and Bisque firing of completed & name labelled work only, free access Studio time during arc open hours, Thursday to Sunday 12 noon to 4pm for non members and 7 day access for members  for the duration of the course.  (Bookings in advance and Conditions apply).  No prior experience with clay necessary; this course is open to everyone.

Please note : Glazing classes are separate to this course and organised at a later date Oct 12th for the additional cost of $55

Minimum of 8 participants required before a glazing class can go ahead.

Any unclaimed work after 2 weeks of notice to collect will be property of arc.
