Come and join Sharon Anderson for 2 hours from 1-3pm
on the 23rd of October for a cyanotype print making workshop. Traditionally a screen printer with 40 years experience Sharon has also been working with Cyanotypes for some years now where there is a cross over of techniques with the use of light sensitive emulsions and a light box for exposure in the studio.
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan blue print. The process was used extensively well into the 20th century by engineers as a low cost process to produce drawings known as blue prints, prior to this is was used to document botanical specimens and was a popular photographic process in Victorian England.
A photosensitive solution is applied to paper, left in the dark to dry, after which a composition of plant pickings or objects are arranged and exposed to light. The effects are quite beautiful and you will take home on or two small card sizes images.
The cost is $10 and the course has been subsidised with funding from the Mirboo North and District community foundation Community grants program. There are 6 places available, contact arc on arcyinnar@speedweb.com.au to book a place.
